It’s 12:01am on January 1st,  and it is officially 2015!!

That means a lot of things, it means getting back into a normal schedule after the holidays, it means saying bye to friends and family that you’ve gotten to see for Christmas; and often it means looking ahead and wondering what God has in store for the next year.

But we all know where I’m going with this. 12:01am on January 1st, 2015 also means ………. pretend there’s fanfare music right here, and lots of streamers and those loud popper things going off……..

2015 Journey to the Heart Memorization Challenge!!!!!!

We are about to embark on a journey through an amazing passage in God’s Word! It’s 31 verses, and within it we find some of the most well known and loved verses in history… depending on who you ask. And no, we are not memorizing John chapter 3. 🙂

Here we are ladies and gentlemen, the official chapter for the 2015 Challenge:

Isaiah 40!

I am so excited about this chapter, because as we were looking for a passage to memorize, this was not originally in the idea box. We wanted something that focused on who God is, and how that affects our lives; and that’s when this chapter struck us. To be honest, there are not many full chapters that deal with that topic so powerfully.  So we encourage you to join us, and grab your friends, your family, people from church, whoever, to come along. You don’t have to go on a Journey to take part in memorizing God’s Word.

 

OK, now that we’ve got that taken care of, I’m going to back track for a second just in case we have folks who haven’t done this before. In a nutshell, here’s how the Journey Challenge goes.

Every January, we choose a chapter of scripture to memorize in it’s entirety by the end of the month.

The thought is to memorize the equivalent of one verse per day. On www.lifesrealjourney.com we post a write up by one of our Journey leaders every day that corresponds with the verse of the day.

Now here’s where the “Challenge” part comes in. We offer a prize to anyone who completes the chapter in the time allotted. The way to receive that prize, is to:

• Quote the entire chapter by February 1st. The chapter can be quoted to your parents, guardian, older sibling, or someone responsible.
• Have them email us at [email protected] by February 5th to let us know that you have completed the chapter.
  In the email, it’s important that they include the name or names of those who finished, and the address where the prizes should be sent.
  Make sense? Well if it doesn’t, then just email us at the address above and we’ll try to clarify.
