As we have observed all that has been happening in 2020 the following Scripture passage comes to mind: “And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear” Hebrews 12:27-28.
It seems that we see evidence of God allowing the shaking of the things that can be shaken, as described in the above mentioned verses. In the midst of all these uncertainties with many things being rattled, it is vitally important that we as believers are grounded in what cannot be shaken: the living, powerful Word of God. With this purpose in mind we are thrilled to announce that we are planning and preparing for our 2021 January Journey Challenge!
Journey Challenge Details:
The Journey Challenge is where the Journey Office selects a passage of Scripture and everyone participating in the Challenge takes the chapter and memorizes and meditates on that passage together. As you memorize the verses, we will be frequently posting blog posts written by previous Journey leaders about what God has shown them as they have meditated on the selected passage.
At the end of the month the passage is then quoted to a parent or other adult and we send you a small token of congratulations. The real prize will be the living Word of God that you will then have treasured up in your heart! Here are a few details about the Journey Challenge:
- Who: Anyone can participate in the Journey Challenge.
- What: Memorize a chapter of Scripture and meditate on it.
- Why: To know God more intimately through meditating on His Word.
- When: During the month of January.
We will announce the passage for this Journey Challenge on December 31, 2020, so stay tuned. Whether or not you participate in the Journey Challenge this year, we want to encourage you to take time to fill your mind and heart with the Word of God. As you saturate your life in the Word, you are cultivating a relationship with the One who cannot be shaken: Jesus Christ.
“When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay!”
