3…..2…..1….. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Well, almost.
Soon we’ll be jumping into another year, a diet here or there, the promise that we’ll do better with our exercise plan, our Bible reading time, and then trying to remember to write 2014 now that we just got used to writing 2013. But another thing we can jump into as the New Year begins is the 2014 Living the Journey Scripture Memorization Challenge!
In case you’re new to the club, here’s what this is all about.
Every January, we choose a chapter of scripture to memorize in it’s entirety by the end of the month.
The thought is to memorize the equivalent of one verse per day. On www.lifesrealjourney.com we post a write up by one of our Journey leaders every day that corresponds with the verse of the day. This year we’re trying to make it even more personal by having the leaders share how the verse they’re writing about has impacted their own lives.
Now here’s where the “Challenge” part comes in. We offer a prize to anyone who completes the chapter in the time allotted. The way to receive that prize, is to:
- Quote the entire chapter by January 31st. The chapter can be quoted to your parents, guardian, older sibling, or someone responsible.
- Have them email us at [email protected] by February 2nd to let us know that you have completed the chapter.
In the email, it’s important that they include the name or names of those who finished, and the address where the prizes should be sent.
Make sense? Well if it doesn’t then just email us at the address above and we’ll try to clarify.
So after that introduction, here is the most vital part of this announcement– the actual chapter we’re going to be memorizing….. Drum Roll Please!!
